Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says the ceasefire in Gaza will not begin until Hamas releases the names of the captives who will be freed in the first phase of the truce deal.
The Palestinian group blamed "technical" reasons for the delay.
Qatar's Prime Minister has detailed monitoring mechanisms for the ceasefire, and Palestinians in Gaza desperately need aid due to the humanitarian crisis caused by the prolonged conflict.

Israel-Hamas War | EU welcomes Gaza ceasefire deal: Thembisa Fakude weighs in

The European Union (EU) has welcomed the Gaza ceasefire deal and hostage release deal between Israel and Hamas.

The complex ceasefire accord between Israel and militant group Hamas, which controls Gaza, emerged on Wednesday after mediation by Qatar, Egypt and the U.S. and 15 months of bloodshed that devastated the coastal territory and inflamed the Middle East.

The deal will take effect on Sunday and negotiators are working with Israel and Hamas on steps to implement it.
