U.S President Donald Trump has announced sweeping tariffs on goods from countries around the world and additional reciprocal tariffs for dozens of countries that he described as bad actors. South Africa was not spared as Trump imposed a 30% rate. President Cyril Ramaphosa has noted with concern the newly imposed tariffs on South Africa, saying that the latest tariffs serve as a barrier to trade and shared prosperity.
