Eleven years ago, revolts spread like wildfire across the Arab world, spurring events that changed the region. Arab Spring was a series of pro-democracy uprisings that affected several largely Muslim countries, including Tunisia, Morocco, Syria, Libya, Egypt and Bahrain. Most of these events began in spring 2011, giving them their names. Even today, years after many of these popular uprisings ended, their social and political impact remains significant.
