Clarity on SA's decision on withdrawal from the ICC: Prof Bheki Mngomezulu

Decription:

President Cyril Ramaphosa's erroneous announcement of a withdrawal from the ICC created quite the buzz, before a statement from his office that the country would remain in the court. At a news conference with Finnish President Sauli Niinisto he said the government had decided that SA should pull out of the ICC largely because of the manner in which the ICC has been dealing with these types of problems. This pivots around an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin and what SA would do if he arrives for a BRICS gathering later this year. We are joined by Tembisa Fakude, a Senior Research Fellow from Africa Asia Dialogues Director and Professor Bheki Mngomezulu, Director at the Centre for the Advancement of Non-Racialism and Democracy at Nelson Mandela University.
