President Cyril Ramaphosa's erroneous announcement of a withdrawal from the ICC created quite the buzz, before a statement from his office that the country would remain in the court. At a news conference with Finnish President Sauli Niinisto he said the government had decided that SA should pull out of the ICC largely because of the manner in which the ICC has been dealing with these types of problems. This pivots around an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin and what SA would do if he arrives for a BRICS gathering later this year.
